Tree Removal Process

Tree Removal Process

An assessment of your tree, surrounding property and landscape is first conducted to determine the most effective and safe method of tree removal. We’ll advise you on all of your options including if the tree has an opportunity to be nurtured back to health, the safety concerns during the tree process and the most effective way to take down the tree. We’ll advise you on your options with respect to tree removal from private property in accordance with regulations outlined by the various towns and cities in southern Ontario.

During the assessment a ‘fall path’ will determined. The fall path should be clear or other trees, obstacles and otherwise anything that could potentially be damaged. The fall path should be essentially flat ground. Sometimes the fall path is more likely to land branches in a certain area depending on which way the tree is leaning. In any event, our Tree Removal Team will be tying off each section that is being removed right above the section that is being cut. Using two tie-offs for safety a member of our staff will be safely positioned in the tree to begin removing sections. Cuts are made in a logical manner and with years of experience in the industry our Tree Removal Experts can make pretty good assumptions on which direction the branch will fall with respect to the ‘fall path’. For larger branches, after a section of the tree is cut the branch will free-fall briefly but not fall directly to the ground. The section, being held by rope or wire, will be lowered when it is safe to do so. A mix of safety ropes, wires and pulleys will gently lower the section to the ground by a member on the team. When the section of the tree has reached the ground it will be removed from the immediate area. The tree removal process is continued again until all the parts of the tree are removed. Smaller branches closer to the ground are usually cut without the use of tying them down although safety considerations are always checked before each cut and a fall path is always established.

Tree Mulch The by-product of the tree removal process can either be removed from your property or put through one of our machines and turned into mulch. GPM Enterprises will gladly use the remaining pieces of your tree and return natural and organic mulch in return. Your trees natural mulch can act as an excellent weed suppressant for flowerbeds while making your revised landscape beautiful.
