Stump Removal Process
After assessing the most effective stump removal method GPM Enterprises will first designate specific areas for the team to work and a collection area for the natural mulch created. We use special tools for stump removal called ‘stump grinders’. A stump grinder is a tool specifically designed for removing stumps. Although there are various makes and models a common design includes two wheels with a third ‘blade’ wheel in the front. Our stump grinders are gas powered and, unlike some of the cheaper models that are belt driven, have hydraulics which force the blade on to a stump for grinding. The blades direction can also be moved allowing for a more effective means of ‘grinding’. The fact that the blade is not belt-driven means that our staff don’t have to force the blade down on the stump manually – which can be a potential safety hazard. We have stump grinders of various shapes and sizes so don’t worry if the stump you would like to have removed is located in your backyard – in a gated area. The by-product of the stump removal process can either be removed from your property or put through one of our machines and turned into mulch.
